Self improvement is something that we should always aspire for. An individual who strives to improve himself emerges as a winner. It is much better to look within, discover your shortcomings and work upon them, rather than sit idle and find out flaws with others.
If you wish to self-improvement, the first step is to examine yourself and try and discover your negative qualities / shortcomings. You have to observe your behavior, speech and your thoughts.
Once you examine yourself, the next step is to figure out your problem. I mean find out whether the problem is in your nature or it is a bad habit that your body is accustomed to. If the problem is in your nature, you have to tackle it by training your mind and by self motivation.
If it is a bad habit like overeating, drinking excessively, smoking excessively, you have to tackle it by learning to resist the temptation. Leading a healthy balanced lifestyle, with optimum exercise is the key to self improvement.

You might come across a common problem of how to deal with relationships and how to deal with people. This is very common problem amongst the youth. Always know that honesty is the best policy. In case of dealing with the world outside, you have to be diplomatic in your thoughts, action and speech. You need to face the world with courage in order to stand upright in the crowd.
Sometimes we find ourselves at a standstill. Life has both up s and downs. We have to take them at our stride. If we do our own work well we will sail through difficult times. We should not let our troubles take an upper hand.
Working hard is the key to success and to self development. We need the basic comforts to lead a good life. Hard work will bring us wealth and money power to buy material comforts. They definitely add to our happiness. We will be able to offer a better future to our children. If we work hard, we will not have time to brood upon trivial things which disturb us.
